A Brief Tobacco Intervention
Abstract: This course provides information about Brief Tobacco Interventions in Primary Care, including CDC recommendations, pharmacology updates and motivational interview techniques.
Mrs. Brigitta Nuccio is a nationally certified and Florida licensed Physician Assistant and a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist. Upon receiving a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Florida in 2002, Mrs. Nuccio began her career in Primary Care. In 2007, Mrs. Nuccio decided to focus exclusively on Tobacco Cessation and Training. For seven years, Mrs. Nuccio had been employed by the Big Bend Area Health Education Center in Tallahassee, Florida and was solely responsible for overseeing a satellite office in Marianna, Florida. She facilitated Quit Smoking Now and Tools to Quit classes throughout various communities and worksites in Florida. She also trained countless cessation facilitators, healthcare professionals, and students.
